Kinder-Prep Program
Basic Fine Motor
Students will learn fine motor skills to help them in a variety of real-world tasks. They will learn to use scissors, glue, colour, hold a pencil properly, and trace.
Learning to Learn Skills
Students will build skills in order to help them succeed in the classroom and in every day life. These skills are required in order to retain information. Some examples are sitting in a chair properly, full body listening skills, using core muscles to sit on the carpet, self-regulation strategies and focus skills.
Name Writing
Students will focus on how to write their first name in all capitals followed by correct formation.
Social-Emotional Learning
Students will build a social-emotional repertoire to help guide them in every day scenerios. This includes time management, zones of regulation, identifying emotions, sharing, being assertive, building friendships, communication, and self-regulation, strategies.
Alphabet and Numbers
Students will work on their alphabet letter recognition starting with uppercase and moving to lowercase. They will build confidence in counting forwards and backwards as well as number recognition.
Life Skills
Students will work on life skills that can be applied outside of the classroom as well. Skills include how to wear their back-pack, zipping zippers, buttoning buttons, opening/closing tupperware, putting on their jackets, etc.
